     Hugh Wilson Jr. was born in 1797 at County Down, Ireland; was an orphan reared by her aunt (mother's sister). He married Mary Clockey in 1818 at Anahilt, County of Down, Ireland; came to America on their honeymoon; marriage was witnessed by Andrew Garrett (her aunt's husband) and Andrew Wilson, the eldest of sons. They witnessed the marriage of Mary C. because she was only 16 years old.
Hugh was a member of the congregation of Dromara, County Dromore and Mary was a member of the congregation of Annahilt, County Down, which are about 55 miles apart. Annahilt is a suburb of Belfast, Dromara is about 55 miles south. Hugh Wilson Jr. emigrated on 2-Aug-1818 from Belfast, Ireland; sailed from Belfast in Ireland for the United States and landed at Quebec in Canada and came to Black Rock in the State of New York in the United States. The 1820 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1820 Marietta, Washington County, Ohio; males: 1 16-26 (Hugh); females: 1 10-16; 1 foreigner not naturalized, 1 engaged in agriculture. Between 1828 and 1837 Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio. The 1830 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1830 Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio; 1 male 30-40; 1 male 5-10; 2 males under 5; 1 female 20-30, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 5-10. He immigrated on 17-May-1831 to Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio; made his Declaration of Intent: sailed from Belfast in Ireland for the United States and landed at Quebec in Canada and came to Black Rock in the State of New York in the United States on the 2nd day of August, 1818; is now 34 yrs old. He witnessed the land transaction of Hugh Wilson on 1-Aug-1835 at Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio; & wife, Mary (her mark), sold land to Hugh Wilson Jr. & wife; witnessed by James Bell Jr., and John Wilson. Hugh Wilson Jr. was on 20-Jan-1836 at Salem, Washington County, Ohio. He was gave land to Church of Good Hope; signed by Hugh Wilson and wife Mary Wilson on 2-Jan-1839 at Washington County, Ohio. The 1840 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1840 Salem, Washington County, Ohio; included 2,1,2,1,1 (Hugh); females: 1, 1, 1, 2, 1 (wife Mary); total 7 males, 6 females for a total of 13 in household. He was naturalized on 26-Oct-1840 at Washington County, Ohio; made Declaration of Intent on May 17, 1839 and by the oath of James Bell. The 1850 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on 5-Sep-1850 Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio; age 52, Mary 48, Hugh 17, John 15, Betsy 10, Ely 11, Amos 8, Benjamin 6. The 1860 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on 6-Aug-1860 Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio; age 62, Mary 58, Benjamin 16, Charles Dutton 2. He died on 16-Sep-1867.
