Charles Howard Jr. was worked for the U. S. Post Office for 12 years, then went into the dairy business. After that he joined the Butte County Sheriff's Dept, retiring from there after 17 years of service. He was born on 1-Jun-1920 at Ajo, Arizona. He served during World War II was in the 7th Division and was at the forefront of major battles in the Pacific campaign including the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, the Marshall Islands and the Phillipines. Charlie was injured in the Leyte battle in late 1944. He died in 2007.
