     Deacon Edward Rice was born in 1618 at Barkhamstead, England. He was christened on 26-Oct-1622 at Stanstead, Suffolk County, England. He was the son of Deacon Edmund Rice and Thomasine Frost. Deacon Edward Rice married Agnes (Anna) Bent, daughter of John Bent and Martha Blanchard, before 1646. Deacon Edward Rice died on 15-Aug-1712 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 89.
     Deacon Edward Rice Deacon Edward Rice was born circa 1622; (1619 per Ward).³ He was the son of Deacon Edmund Rice and Thomasine Frost. Deacon Edward Rice was christened on 27 October 1622 at Stanstead, co Suffolk, England; 26th per TAG, 20th per Rice Gen'l Register, under the name Rise. The 1622 baptism record gives the child's name as Edmund, not Edward. Nonetheless, your authors are convinced that Edward was the child baptized (and of course born) that year, and that he exaggerated his age in later life.^2,4,5 He married Agnes Bent, daughter of John Bent and Martha Blanchard, circa 1647.^3,2,6 Deacon Edward Rice died on 15 August 1712 at Marlborough, MA; at about age 93.^3,7
He received one lot in the Sudbury Two-Mile Grant in 1655.⁸ He resided in 1664 at Marlborough, MA, where he was a Deacon of the church.⁹ He declared age 47 in a paper filed in court on 2 October 1666 at Middlesex County Court, Cambridge, MA.¹⁰ He was assessed 8s 7d in the 1688 Marlborough tax roll.¹¹ On 1 April 1686 at Sudbury, MA, Edward and Agnes Rice gave to their son Edmund Rice of Sudbury, half of the farm lying within the bounds of Sudbury, "near the spring". (Edward had purchased some of this land from his father Edmund and some of the land from his brother Benjamin. John Rice of Sudbury, a brother of Edmund, had the choice half.) Deed recorded 16 August 1734.^3,12 He was elected deacon in 1687.¹³ In the year 1692 he was questioned in court - aged 70y.¹⁴ A 1712 obituary in the Boston News Letter gave the death year as 1711 and said he had been born in Berkhamstead in 1618. It also said he had 142 descendants at that time, of which 119 were living. It further said that Edward's brother Henry, who had died in Framingham in 1711, had a similarly large number of descendants.¹⁵

     Edward Lee Rice was born on 30-Jun-1878. He was the son of Asa Samuel Rice and Mary Jane Bradley. Edward Lee Rice married Lucille Felton Haray. Edward Lee Rice died on 30-Oct-1953 at age 75.
     The 1880 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of Asa Samuel Rice's household; age 33, wife Meary J, age 31; children Mary E, 10; Ann Elizabeth, 9; Oliver James, 7; Hermana Magdeline, 4; Edward Lee, 2. Edward Lee Rice was an oil field worker in the Falfurias area.

     Effie Jewel Rice is the daughter of Effie Justin "E. J." Rice and Bertha Pierce.

     Effie Justin "E. J." Rice was born on 1-Oct-1887 at Yoakum, Lavaca County, Texas. He was the son of William Henry "Roane" Rice and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Karl. Effie Justin "E. J." Rice married Bertha Pierce, daughter of Charles David Pierce and Lucinda Jane Bell, on 22-Sep-1915 at Yoakum, Lavaca County, Texas. Effie Justin "E. J." Rice died on 9-Sep-1973 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 85. He was buried at County Line Cemetery, DeWitt County, Texas.
     Effie Justin "E. J." Rice was a U. S. Postal Service letter carrier in DeWitt County, retired in 1957 after 39 years service. The 1900 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of William Henry "Roane" Rice's household; Rice, William, head, w/m/Apr 1857/43, married 17 years, born Texas, father born Ohio, mother born New York, farmer, owned house, Mary E., wife, w/f/Aug 1858/41, 7 children, 6 living, born Texas, parents Germany, Jessie J., son, w/m/May 1885/15, born Texas, Effie J., son, w/m/Oct 1887/12, born Texas, Salina, daughter, w/f/July 1890/9, born Texas, Amelia, daughter, w/f/Feb 1893/7, born Texas, Eugene H. w/m/6 born Texas, Eva A. Harmes, niece, w/f/Sept 1889/11, born Texas, parents born Germany, John M. Ruston, grandfather, w/m/Aug 1817/82, born North Carolina, parents born Tennessee. Effie Justin "E. J." Rice was a school teacher at Center School #1 in DeWitt County for $55 per month in 1912.

     Eleazer Rice was born on 16-May-1692. He was the son of Daniel Rice and Bethiah Ward. Eleazer Rice married Thankful Fletcher, daughter of Samuel Fletcher and Mary (?), on 8-Dec-1720 at Concord, Massachusetts. Eleazer Rice died after 1767.

     Eleazer Rice was born in 1709 at Marlborough, Massachusetts. He was the son of Edmund Rice and Ruth Parker.

     Elisha Rice was born on 2-Dec-1690 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Captain Peter Rice and Rebecca How. Elisha Rice married Martha Rice on 6-Oct-1720. Elisha Rice died on 10-Mar-1789 at age 98.

     Elisha Rice was born on 4-Dec-1679. He was the son of Thomas Rice and Mary King. Elisha Rice died before 19-Oct-1761.

     Elizabeth Rice was born on 2-Oct-1736. She was the daughter of Ensign Abraham Rice and Persis Robinson.

     Elizabeth Rice was born on 26-Oct-1656. She was the daughter of Samuel Rice and Elizabeth King. Elizabeth Rice married Peter Haynes on 2-Jan-1677. Elizabeth Rice died on 22-Dec-1727 at age 71.

     Ellizabeth Rice married Ephraim How. Ellizabeth Rice was born on 9-Dec-1697 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Benjamin Rice and Mary Rice. Ellizabeth Rice died on 28-Dec-1775 at age 78.

     Elnathan Rice was born on 28-Jan-1697/98 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Captain Peter Rice and Rebecca How. Elnathan Rice died on 28-Oct-1716 at Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 18.

     Elva Eva Rice was born on 5-Mar-1907 at Eldorado, Texas. She was the daughter of Charles Allison Rice and Sallie Belle Martindale. Elva Eva Rice married Dwaine Lockwood on 30-Dec-1926 at Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona. Elva Eva Rice married William Herbert"Bill" Gibson on 23-Feb-1938 at Gallup, New Mexico, and he and Elva raised his six children from a previous marriage to Katherine Schwabb. Elva Eva Gibson died on 15-Aug-1987 at Winslow, Navajo County, Arizona, at age 80.

     Emily W. Rice was born on 21-May-1878 at DeWitt County, Texas; Nancy E. per 1880 census and Jewel Henderson letter. She was the daughter of Oren Adelbert Rice and Mary Alice Hodges. Emily W. Rice married James Edward Parker, son of William J. Parker and Mary Clay. Emily W. Parker died on 23-Apr-1961 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 82. She was buried at Alexander Cemetery, DeWitt County, Texas.
     Emily W. Parker had no children; name on death certificate is Nancy Emily Parker. She raised one girl. Her husband is no relation to Clem Parker. The 1880 Federal Census enumerated her as a member of Oren Adelbert Rice's household; Rice, Oren A., head, w/m/24, farmer, born Texas, father born Ohio, mother born Ireland, Alice, wife, w/f/20, born Texas, father born Alabama, mother born Illinois, Mary A., daughter, w/f/4, born Texas, Nancy E., daughter, w/f/2, born Texas. The 1900 Federal Census enumerated her as a member of Oren Adelbert Rice's household; Rice, Oren A., head, w/m/July 1855/49, married 25 years, born Texas, father born Ohio, mother born Pen or Ten.

     Ephriam Rice was born on 28-Oct-1735 at Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Azariah Rice and Hannah Bartlett. Ephriam Rice married Thankful Walker. Ephriam Rice died in 1810.

In the name of God Amen. The eighth day of July, one thousand seven hundred & seventy two: I Azariah Rice of Brookfield in the County of Worcester & Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England, Yeoman, being in health and of sound disposing mind & memory, thanks be given to God but calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing that all men must once die, do make this my last will and testament, that is to say, first of all I give & I recommend my soul into the hand of God who gave it, & my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor hereafter named, not doubting but at the General resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God-And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give demise & dispose of the same in the following manner & form.
I?. My will is that all my just debts & funeral charges paid by my Executors out of my estate.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Benj’n. About two acres of half of meadow more or less as the same is in the southerly side (illegible illegible) Pond, bounded all round by (illegible) & said Pond which is his full part with what I have given him heretofore.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son Oliver, one half part of four acres of meadow for quantity & quality, lying near Pine Hill, be it more or less as per Brookfield Book of record. I also give him more, viz. two acres of meadow at Bartlett’s Point (so called) be it more or less, as per record.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Jonas one half part of four acres of meadow near Pine Hill, be it more or less as per record.
Item. I give & bequeath to my son Ephraim one half part of my house where I now live with the building thereon both for quantity & quality with all my husbandry tools and living stock of creatures of every kind I shall die seized of as the name is bounded southwesterly part on Jonas Rice & part on Elisha Rice, west on Cyprian Rice and four acres of my own land here after mentioned on a town road. Northerly on a town road. Easterly part on (Ralph’s ?) land & part on south pond southerly, southerly on John Rice his land. Said homelot lyes on both sides a town road & contains in the whole about one hundred acres, more four acres lying on the northerly side a town road, more or less as per record. I also give him ten acres of meadow on Qualange River bound on north on the river, south & east on Josiah Partredge, west on Bartlett’s Point. I give him more viz my part in the Meeting house and all my wearing apparel with all the money which is due or coming to me from my late brother Mattathias Rice deceased his estate with all my money I shall die seized & possessed of. Said bequests are on the conditions following viz. That the said Ephraim improve the half heretofore bequeathed in a good husband-like manner during my life & deliverance yearly the whole produce of the same of every sort affordance to be to my sole use & disposal. And also to provide for my comfortable support in sickness & health during my natural life if I stand in need & at my death to give a decent Christian burial. And also pay out the legacies hereafter mentioned to his two sisters & my granddaughter.
Item. I give & bequeath to my daughter’s Miriam & Mary in equal parts all my household goods of every sort & name, as iron, (illegible) pewter, wood, bed & bedding, linen & woolen of every sort & whatever else of indoor moveable not mentioned by name. And ten shilling money to each of them. And to Mary one milking cow to be paid by my executor at my decease.
Item. I give, bequeath to my granddaughter Zerciah Sanford, one heifer two years old, to be delivered to her by my executor within six months after my decease.
Item. I constitute my son Ephr. Rice, sole executor to this my last will and testament. And I utterly disallow & disannul all & every other former or other wills, legacies and bequests or Executors by me made, willed or bequeathed. Ratifying & conforming this and no other to be my last will & testament.

Worcester ss. To all people to whom these presents shall come, Levi Lincoln, Judge of the Probate of wills, in the County of Worcester, within the State of Massachusetts Bay, in New England, sendeth Greeting.
Know ye, that on the seventh day of September, anno domini 1779. The instrument herewith annexed purporting the last will & testament of Azariah Rice, late of Brookfield in the County aforesaid, deceased, was presented for probate by Ephraim Rice the executor herein named. Then present William Ayres & Benjamin Ayers, two of the witnesses of the hereto described who made oath that they saw the said testator sign seal & heard him declare the said instrument to be his last will & testament & that they with the other subscribing witnesses subscribed their names together as witnesses to the execution thereof in the said testator’s presence and that he was this to the best of their judgement, of sound & disposing mind:
I do prove, approve & allow of the said instrument as the last will & testament of the before name deceased and do commit that the administration thereof in all matters the same (illegible) & of his estate whereof he died seized & possessed in said County unto Ephraim Rice the before named executor work faithfully to execute the said will, and to administer the estate of the said deceased according thereto, who accepted of his said inst. and he shall render an inventory of said estate into the Probate office according to law, and he shall render an amount upon oath of his proceeding when thereunto lawfully required.

     Ephriam Rice was born on 15-Apr-1665. He was the son of Thomas Rice and Mary King. Ephriam Rice married Hannah Livermore on 21-Feb-1689. Ephriam Rice died on 25-Oct-1732 at age 67.

     Escar J. (Beck) Rice was born on 28-Aug-1913. He was the son of Daniel Oliver Rice and Vicki Pearl Smith. Escar J. (Beck) Rice married Vacie (?); 2nd marriage. Escar J. (Beck) Rice married Vera Quinn. Escar J. (Beck) Rice and Vera Quinn were divorced in 1972. Escar J. (Beck) Rice died on 20-May-1997 at Lavaca County, Texas, at age 83.
     The 1930 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of Daniel Oliver Rice's household. Escar J. (Beck) Rice served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

     Esther Rice was born on 18-Sep-1665. She was the daughter of Samuel Rice and Elizabeth King. Esther Rice married Daniel Hubbard on 1-Nov-1683. Esther Rice died on 11-Feb-1737 at age 71.

     Ethel Ruby "Goldie" Rice was born on 14-Jan-1900 at Stratton, DeWitt County, Texas. She was the daughter of Oren Adelbert Rice and Mary Alice Hodges. Ethel Ruby "Goldie" Rice married Vawdry Burtram Graham. Ethel Ruby "Goldie" Graham died on 14-May-1963 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 63. She was buried at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas.
     The 1900 Federal Census enumerated her as a member of Oren Adelbert Rice's household; Rice, Oren A., head, w/m/July 1855/49, married 25 years, born Texas, father born Ohio, mother born Pen or Ten.

     Eugene Herman Rice was born on 16-Sep-1894 at DeWitt County, Texas. He was the son of William Henry "Roane" Rice and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Karl. Eugene Herman Rice married Norene Dubose on 27-Oct-1920 at DeWitt County, Texas. Eugene Herman Rice married Deborah Lorette "Dora" Owen, daughter of Meeks Owen and Anna Laurette Phillips, on 8-Nov-1924 at Lavaca County, Texas. Eugene Herman Rice died on 1-Aug-1960 at Yoakum, Texas, at age 65 probate of will lists all 7 children. He was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Yoakum, Texas.

Rice: Eugene & Dora Rice had a trunk in the attic of their old house filled with family records, old letters, and info of all kinds concerning the family tree. Then they built a new house next to their old house. They had to transfer everything from the old to the new house. They put it on a bonfire they had going to burn up trash.      Eunice Rice was born on 25-Dec-1759. She was the daughter of Oliver Rice and Lucy Rice.

     Eunice Rice was born on 3-May-1688. She was the daughter of Thomas Rice and Anna Rice.

     Fannie Angeline Rice was born on 18-Sep-1885 at DeWitt County, Texas. She was the daughter of Asa Samuel Rice and Mary Jane Bradley. Fannie Angeline Rice married Frank Leonard Tucker on 18-Apr-1927 at DeWitt County, Texas. Fannie Angeline Tucker died on 23-Mar-1943 at Yoakum, Texas, at age 57 in a train-car collision. She was buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Yoakum, Texas.
     The 1900 Federal Census enumerated her as a member of Asa Samuel Rice's household; head/w/m/Sept/1846/53/married 31 years, born Texas, father born England, mother born Texas, farmer, home owned. Fannie Angeline Tucker was a nurse.

     Felton O. Rice was born on 9-Mar-1905 at Yoakum, Texas. He was the son of Edward Lee Rice and Lucille Felton Haray. Felton O. Rice died on 27-Jan-1960 at Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, at age 54. He was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas.
     Felton O. Rice death certificate states mother's name Kate Bowen. He was a driller in oil fields.

     Frances Rice was born on 3-Feb-1670/71. He was the son of Thomas Rice and Mary King. Frances Rice died circa 1767.

     Francis Earlene Rice is the daughter of Orbria Lawrence Rice and Edna Earl Agnew.

     Francis Rae Rice is the daughter of Eugene Herman Rice and Deborah Lorette "Dora" Owen.

     Gail Dorsene Rice is the daughter of Montrose Madison Rice and May Marie Bering.
