     Anderson P. Ruston was born circa 1856 at DeWitt County, Texas. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Amanda Garey.
     The 1870 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of John M. Ruston's household; Precinct 5, John M., 49, wagoner, born Tennessee.

     Andrew Newman Ruston was born in 1850 at Walker County, Texas. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Minerva M. Newman. Andrew Newman Ruston married Lucy Bartlett on 24-Mar-1870 at Travis County, Oklahoma. Andrew Newman Ruston died in 1926 at Pryor, Oklahoma.

     Daniel Ruston was born in 1880. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Elizabeth (?).

     Delila Ruston was born in 1875 at DeWitt County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andrew Newman Ruston and Lucy Bartlett. Delila Ruston died before 1910 at Brown County, Texas.

     Elizabeth Ruston was born in 1879. She was the daughter of Andrew Newman Ruston and Lucy Bartlett.

     George W. Ruston was born circa 1853 at Stratton, DeWitt County, Texas. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Amanda Garey. George W. Ruston married Josephine (?) circa 1875.
     The 1870 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of John M. Ruston's household; Precinct 5, John M., 49, wagoner, born Tennessee.

An aged Man Died
Lacked one month and twenty-one days of being ninety years of age.
On Tuesday night at the home of Mr and Mrs. Wm Rice, which is within three miles of this city. Mr. John M. Suston [Ruston] died from Brights Disease.
This gentleman liked just one month and twenty-one days of having lived one score and ten years longer than the allotted life. Mr. Suston would have been had he lived to see the 14th of August, 90 years of age, and almost every year of that age, until recently, has been full of vigor and health.
Mr. Suston leaves three sons, Andy Suston residing near Austin, George Suston, residing near Wharton and John Suston who when last heard was in Florida. Of these three only George Suston will be in attendance upon the funeral.
Mr. Suston moved to Texas from Alabama in the good year 1836 and located in DeWitt County. From there he fought in the Mexican War, and then the Civil War and fought Indians for the fun of the thing. He has been engaged in almost every hard Indian fight to take place in this part of the state. His war records have all been clear and clean ones, and his readiness to fight for his home and country was never disputed.
Mr. Suston first located in DeWitt County. After which he moved to Bastrop County and then later on back here. He has been married three times, each of his wives, being died some years ago. Mr. Suston has been a constant user of chewing tobacco since a boy and used it until his very death. He drank some whiskey, occasionally drinking to excess but very seldom. The latter years of the old gentleman have been spend in the home of his step-grandson, Mr. Wm. Rice, at whose home the old gentleman breathed his last.
The funeral took place today when his remains were buried at the Alexander Cemetery. John M. Ruston was born on 14-Aug-1818 at North Carolina. He married Minerva M. Newman, daughter of Joseph Newman and Rachel Rabb, on 3-Oct-1848 at DeWitt County, Texas. John M. Ruston married Amanda Garey, daughter of Seymour Garey and Sally Carney (Karne), on 10-Sep-1851 at DeWitt County, Texas. John M. Ruston married Elizabeth (?) in 1873. John M. Ruston died on 23-Jun-1908 at DeWitt County, Texas, at age 89. He was buried at Alexander Cemetery, DeWitt County, Texas.
     John M. Ruston moved from Alabama to Texas in 1836. Rachel Newman (Minerva's mother) was granted guardianship of Minerva's children, Elizabeth Ann, Serena and Andrew. In 1856, John Ruston petitioned the court for guardianship of Andrew and it was granted. in 1851. The 1870 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on 1-Aug-1870; Precinct 5, John M., 49, wagoner, born Tennessee. The 1880 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on 1-Jun-1880; Precinct 15, John M. 58, born Tennessee.      John M. Ruston Jr. was born circa 1858. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Amanda Garey.

     Sallie Ruston was born in 1871 at DeWitt County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andrew Newman Ruston and Lucy Bartlett.

     Sarah Ruston was born in 1874. She was the daughter of John M. Ruston and Elizabeth (?).

     William Ruston was born in 1876. He was the son of John M. Ruston and Elizabeth (?).

     Braxton Lee Rutledge is the son of Brian Lee Rutledge and Sara Holdbrook.

     Brian Lee Rutledge is the son of Robert Joe Rutledge and Delphia Mae Sloane.

     Christopher Rutledge is the son of Diana Rutledge.

     Debora Faye Rutledge is the daughter of Robert Joe Rutledge and Delphia Mae Sloane.

     Diana Rutledge is the daughter of Robert Joe Rutledge and Delphia Mae Sloane.

     Nancy Ada Bell Ryan was born on 3-Mar-1888 at Louisiana. She married William Henry "Bill" Newman, son of Leander Green Newman and Malinda Wofford, on 22-Jun-1920 at DeWitt County, Texas. Nancy Ada Bell Ryan died on 11-Aug-1979 at Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas, at age 91.
     Nancy Ada Bell Ryan came to Texas from Louisiana in a covered wagon at age 6 months. She was employed by the County road department.

     Mary Jane Safly married Ephraim Hardin Cannon, son of Alvin Byars Cannon and Paralee Wesson.

     Deborah Yvonne Sample is the daughter of Derrell DeVance Sample and Barbara Ann Henry.

     Derrell DeVance Sample is the son of MeMee (Cub) Sample and Oma Permenter.

     MeMee (Cub) Sample married Oma Permenter.
     MeMee (Cub) Sample; [named after an indian MeMee and Cub was a nickname placed on his tombstone].

     Steven Keith Sample is the son of Derrell DeVance Sample and Barbara Ann Henry.

     Terry Jane Sample is the daughter of Derrell DeVance Sample and Barbara Ann Henry.

     Virginia Gail Sample is the daughter of Derrell DeVance Sample and Barbara Ann Henry.

     Bertha Sanders was born on 28-Sep-1884. She was the daughter of James Casey Sanders and Sarah E. Dixon. Bertha Sanders married Van C. W. Carey. Bertha Sanders died on 18-Jul-1966 at age 81.

     Chester Sanders married Olive Myrtle Newman, daughter of James Milton Newman and Polly Elam.
