Elizabeth Wilder was born in 1726 at Edgecombe County, North Carolina. She married David Cooper in 1747; [probably is Wilder but no definite proof, per Donald Cooper]. Elizabeth Cooper died after 1805 at Gafney, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
The 1790 Federal Census enumerated her as a member of David Cooper's household; and one slave. Elizabeth Cooper and David Cooper received 365 acres on Thickety Creek for 10s and "consideration of David Cooper assisting in finding and searching for the best beds of ore on the survey made on Thickety Cr for Daniel Bourdeaux, David Hopkins, John Vanderhorst, and Francis Bremar as by an agreement given David by Francis". On Jan 6, 1800 Elizabeth sold 148 acres for "$125 SC money on the waters of Thickety Cr; part of tract sold by Francis Bremar to Elizabeth Cooper" and in 1805 sold 217 ac on "main" Thickety Cr on 20-May-1797. Elizabeth Wilder bought land from Francis Bremar (Charleston, SC) in Thickety for 10s and 'consideration of David assisting in finding and searching for the best beds of ore on the survey made on Thickety Cr for Daniel Bourdeaux, David Hopkins, John Vanderhorst, and Francis Bremar as by an agreement given David by Francis sell to Elizabeth Cooper, widow of David, 365 ac; border: NE & NW-Obadiah Trimmier, NE-Mackley and other sides by survey for Daniel Bourdeaux, David Hopkins, John Vanderhorst, and Francis Bremar; Daniel Bourdeaux, David Hopkins, John Vanderhorst, and Francis Bremar reserve all iron ore, wood, or water for carrying on an Iron works for themselves;plat attached shows two adjoining tracts of 217 ac and 148 ac.
