Stripling Byars died after 17-Feb-1836 at Elyton, Jefferson County, Alabama, will probated April 16, 1836. He was buried Union Hill Cemetery located on the north side of Hollywood Blvd. on the west side of Hwy 280. Canterbury Methodist Church was formerly located on the right side of the cemetery. Census taken May 1, 1974 (no Byars or Coopers); per "Cemeteries of Jefferson County, Alabama, Hahn, Vol 1, 1982 at Union Hill Cemetery, Jefferson County, Alabama.
The 1800 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1800 Rutherford County, North Carolina; Stripling Byas, males: 10010; females: 301001. The 1810 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household on 1-Aug-1810 Rutherford County, North Carolina; Shipling Byars, head, males: 21010; females: 32101; slave: 1; homespun looms: 1; annual yards of homespun: 200; value: $100. He and Elizabeth Blair left North Carolina around 1812 and moved to Christian County, Kentucky. In 1817, he moved to Jefferson County, Alabama. He received public land in Jefferson County in 1825 between 1812 and 1817. Stripling Byars land survey shows Stripling with 100 acres of land on Muddy Creek watercourse below Green River in Christian County, Kentucky. He sold this land on October 25, 1817. Stripling and James Byars were purchasers at an estate sale in Christian County, Kentucky on Nov 29, 1815 on 29-Mar-1812. He was bought 79.8 acres of public land on 15-May-1826 at Jefferson County, Alabama. The 1830 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1830 Jefferson County, Alabama; males: 1(5-10) 2 (10-15) 1 (60-70); females: 1 (5-10) 2 (10-15) 1 (15-20) 1 (30-40) 1 (40-50);slaves: male 1 (under 10) 1 (10-25) 1 (36-55) female 1 (36-55); total 14. He left a will on 17-Feb-1836 at Jefferson County, Alabama; wife Elizabeth, dauther Martha, Thomas Goode, husband of daughter Mary, witnessed by Wm F. McDuff, John Byars, H. W. Goyne.
