Nancy Ann Rice died on 9-Dec-1875 at age 34. Truman Rice told this story: Two men were on the old William Wilson Rice ranch. They had a metal detector and was walking around with it on the ground. The metal detector sounded. they dug down into the ground and found a large old oak log that had been hollowed out. Inside the log was the skeletion of a woman. She had a gold locket around her neck. This was believed the burial ground of William Wilson Rice's first wife, Nancy Ann Baker. The men left everything alone and reburied the remains.

The 1900 Federal Census enumerated her as head of household DeWitt County, Texas; Mary A. Rice, b 7-1855 North Carolina; living with brother Robert A. Cochran, b 4-1852, North Carolina. Mary Ann Cochran died on 13-Feb-1905 at Stratton, DeWitt County, Texas, at age 49 of bronchitis. She was buried at Alexander Cemetery, DeWitt County, Texas.

Isaac Elmer Creek died on 15-Jul-1968 at Coleman County, Texas, at age 89.

     Sarah Melvina Elam was born on 12-Jan-1889 at Cuero, DeWitt County, Texas. She married George Washington "Bud" Newman, son of James Milton Newman and Mary Elizabeth Rice, on 1-Jan-1907 at Vandyke, Comanche County, Texas. Sarah Melvina Elam was buried on 2-Mar-1980 at Colony Hill, Taylor County, Texas. She died on 2-Mar-1980 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at age 91.
