Dillard Cooper married Lucinda Fondren, daughter of Richard Fondren and Sarah Cole, on 1-Nov-1832 at Spartanburg District, South Carolina. Dillard Cooper married Elizabeth E. Goldson/Gholson on 1-Oct-1878. Dillard Cooper married Amanda Talk, daughter of John Talk and Mary (?), on 19-Jul-1883 at Llano, Llano County, Texas. Dillard Cooper died in 1896 at Llano, Llano County, Texas.
     Dillard Cooper was 6 ft tall, light hair, blue eyes, said Mrs. Fannie A. D. Darden, who, in 1870, preserved Cooper's recollections of the massacre. He emigrated in 1833 from Jackson County, Alabama. He served in the Texian Militia during War for Texas Independence between 1835 and 1836 served under Capt. John Shackelford's Red Rovers, landing at Copano Bay in Jan 1836. Cooper was slightly wounded at the battle of Coleto but escaped the Goliad Massacre. He is listed in the Republic of Texas Poll List for 1846, page 35 at Colorado County, Texas. The 1850 Federal Census enumerated him as head of household in 1850 Colorado County, Texas. He served during Civil War Private, Fifth Regiment, Texas Infantry

Jr. 2 Lt., Benavides' Regiment Texas Cavalry.

     Dillard L. Cooper witnessed the emigration of John C. W. (W.C.) Cooper and Benson G. Cooper in 1845 at Brinkley, Monroe County, Arkansas. The 1860 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of Benson G. Cooper's household; head of household with Delpha Cooper, 48, Julia, 23, Dillard L. 20, John C.W., 18, Emlita 14, Benson, 14. Dillard L. Cooper served in the Confederate Army during Civil War "espoused the Southern cause and joined Company E, Twenty-fifth Arkansas Infantry, and operated in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia, and was a participant in eighteen different engagements, among which may be mentioned Shiloh, Richmond, New Hope, Peach Tree Creek, Murfreesboro, Missionary Ridge and Chcikamauga, and was all through the Atlanta campaign. He returned with Hood to Tennessee and was in the engagements at Franklin and Nashville, but was captured at the last-named place and taken to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he was retained until after Lee's surrender. On being released he went to Fort Riley, Kan., but soon after returned home..." He and his elder brother, Dillard L., served together throughout the war, and during their entire service were never separated but eight days, and that was while our subject was in the hospital, after being wounded at the battle of Murfreesboro."

     Eady Cooper was born on 23-Jan-1799 at South Carolina. She was the daughter of John (Cotton) Cooper and Nancy Arnold. Eady Cooper married James Givens, son of Allen Givens and Mary Forsythe, on 30-Mar-1821 at Berry's Lick, Butler County, Kentucky. Eady Cooper died on 12-Apr-1852 at Coppiras Works, Butler County, Kentucky, at age 53. She was buried at Givens Cemetery, Butler County, Kentucky.
     Eady Cooper father-in-law, Allen Givens, was married to Eady's sister, Rhoda.

     Edward Cooper was born on 17-Aug-1773 at Spartanburg, South Carolina; or Wake County, North Carolina. He was the son of David Cooper and Elizabeth Wilder. Edward Cooper married Susannah Cole, daughter of Thomas Cole and Martha Rice, in 1795. Edward Cooper died on 16-Sep-1883 at age 110 probably between Pulaski County, Kentucky and Texas.
     The 1790 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of David Cooper's household; and one slave. Edward Cooper resided in 1840 at Wayne County, Kentucky.

     Edward Jerome "E. J." Cooper was born on 12-Jan-1915 at Victoria County, Texas. He was the son of Marshall Jerone Cooper and Mary Adeline "Addie" Rice. Edward Jerome "E. J." Cooper married Juanita Delores Moody, daughter of Ernest Moody and Littie Moody, on 15-Jan-1938. Edward Jerome "E. J." Cooper died on 29-Sep-2003 at Cleveland, Texas, at age 88. He was buried at Pace-Stancil Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
     Edward Jerome "E. J." Cooper was a Baptist, Mason, lay preacher and Mission Association delegate. He was a retired pipefitter, general foreman and labor steward (15 years); truck driver and oil field worker. He was about 4 years old when the family went on a trip to make harvests along the way of cotton corn, etc. They had a large travelers wagon with bunk beds and a kitchen on the back and two horses named Buttons and Bald Eagle. Sylvester, Earl and Lee rode on horses. The younger children rode in the wagon. At night they would stop at a wagon yard (like today's motel) where a shed for the wagon and two horse stalls were furnished. In back was a place to build a fire to cook on. It was up high enough so one didn't have to squat down to tend the fire. The family lived in the wagon while staying there. He was a magazine hd at Houston Textile Mills between 1929 and 1930 at Houston, Texas. The 1930 Federal Census enumerated him as a member of Marshall Jerone Cooper's household; Cooper, Marshall, head, renter, monthly rent 20, married, age at first marriage 28, cannot read and write, night watchman, textile mill, Mary A, wife, f/w/54, age at first marriage 24, can read and write, born Texas, father and mother born Texas, Lee, son, m/w/22, born Texas, insurance agent, Jewel, daughter, f/w/20,born Texas, textile mill filler, Harper, son, m/w/17, born Texas, textile mill napper. Edward Jerome "E. J." Cooper was a Little League sponsor and manager in the state playoffs between 1968 and 1969.
