Thomas Gill witnessed the will of David 1 McClure on 9-Nov-1744 at Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts; In the Name of God amen the ninth day of November anno domini 1744 I David McClure of Brookfield in the County of Worcester and Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England Husbandman, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will and testament. Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body I recommended to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the direction of my executor hereafter mentioned named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate the wherewith God hath seen pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
1stly, My will and pleasure is that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal estate.
2ndly, I give and bequeath to Agnes my dearly and well beloved wife all the residue of my personal estate to her absolute disposal and the sole use & benefit and improvement of all my real estate during her natural life.
3rdly, I give and bequeath to my sons and daughters viz, John, James, Elizabeth and Jenny fifty shillings lawful money to each of them, to my daughter Margaret five pounds lawful money and to my daughter Sarah seven pounds ten shillings lawful money all to be paid within three years after the decease of my wife Agnes by my son David out of my real estate.
4thly, I give and bequest to my son David all my real estate to him his heirs and assigns forever after the decease of my wife Agnes he paying the legacies aforesaid to his brothers and sisters aforenamed.
5thly, I constitute make and ordain, my well beloved wife Agnes and my 1st son David the executors of this my last will and testament.

Joseph Dwight Esq. set to their names as witnesses thereof at the same time in the said testators presence sworn before me John Chandler, Judge.
Province of the Massachusetts Bay by the Honourable Joseph Wilser, Esq. Judge of the Probate of Wills and for Granting (L S) Letters of administration on the estates of persons deceased having goods chattels rights or credits in the County of Worcester within the Province aforesaid. To all unto whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that upon the day of the date hereof before me at Worcester in the County of ref. and the will of David McClure of Brookfield in the County and Province aforesaid Husbandman deceased, before me (illegible) annexed having been proved was now approved and allowed who having while he lived & at the time of his death goods chattels rights or credits in the County aforesaid and the Probate of the said will. Power of committing administration of all and singular the goods chattels rights and credits of the said dec. by virtue thereof appertaining to me. The administration of all and singular the goods chattels rights and credits of the dec. and his will in any manner concerning is hereby committed unto Agnes McClure his wife Executrix in the same will named will and faithfully to execute the said will and administer the estate of said dec. according there unto and to make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels rights credits of the said dec. and to exhibit the same into the Registry of the Court of Probate for the County aforesaid at or before the 15th day of June next ensuing and also to render a plain and true of her said administration upon oath when required.
